The Emerald Suite sits at the top of its own outside staircase, a pine-floored attic suite with sloping ceilings and a quiet, tucked-away feel. A wood-burning fireplace makes it the room for cool Karoo nights.

The bed is a chunky natural weave dressed in white linen and sage cushions, with old campaign chests either side and reading lamps on the wall. A hand-painted antique chest holds the coffee station beneath a shuttered dormer window, beside a deep wingback chair. Up two steps, the roll-top bath and twin basins sit against warm pine. One night gets you the fire and a long bath. Two gets you a slow morning by the dormer window, a long breakfast and sunset over the mountains before dinner.
